Kashi Products
Cereal

Kashi really knows what they’re doing when it comes to cereal; it’s an all-around winner for sure. If I were to sit down and create a list of qualities I look for when buying/eating cereal, I’d say I’d like a brand that’s healthy yet delicious, with several different flavor options, at a justifiable price. That, in a nutshell, is what Kashi brings to the table (pun intended!) in their breakfast cereal. They use organic ingredients and whole grains, without using anything artificial, yet they still manage to provide a full, delicious flavor. Among my favorites are: Honey Sunshine, Berry Blossom, Cinnamon Harvest and Strawberry Fields. Since I discovered Kashi cereal a couple of years ago, I haven’t bought anything else!
Granola/Fruit Bars

As I’ve stated in a previous post, Kashi’s granola bars (and fruit bars) are top-notch. They aren’t packed full of sugar and preservatives, yet they’re incredibly satisfying, both for the taste buds and the tummy! They use healthy ingredients to make some interesting and delicious flavor combinations; they contain ingredients such as flax seed (it doesn’t sound very appealing, but it’s very nutritious, and actually quite tasty), rich dark chocolate, dried fruit, and crunchy nuts. Also, they’re packed with vitamins and nutrients; they’re a tasty catalyst to a healthy diet!
Oatmeal

Since childhood, I’ve never really been much of a fan of oatmeal. I think my issue was mostly with the texture, more so than the taste. I still rarely eat it as an adult, but when I do, it’s got to be Kashi. The texture is much better than I remember, and they even put real chunks of fruit in the package (the apple cinnamon is the best!). Kashi makes me want to love oatmeal! If you’re a fan of oatmeal, I’d definitely suggest giving the Kashi brand a try, as it’s such a healthy, quick and delicious breakfast option.
Waffles

I just love it when someone takes a guilty indulgence and transforms it into something healthy and justifiable (fat-free cupcakes, anyone?). That someone(s) in this case is the group of geniuses behind the scenes at Kashi. I used to LOVE to eat frozen waffles for breakfast, with a little butter and syrup, yum! I would sometimes have multiple boxes in the freezer at once, and mostly I ate the naughty ones, like chocolate chip. I stopped eating them because not only are they addictive (I’d end up eating them pretty much every day), but they don’t have much nutritional value. I was perusing the grocery store shelves one day, not really looking for anything in particular, when I stumbled upon Kashi’s 7-grain frozen waffles. I heard heavenly music in my head and before I knew it, they were in the cart. Upon having them for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they tasted! The texture is good (they aren’t mushy at all, they remain nice & crunchy), and they have a fantastic flavor; I like to spread a little apple butter over the top and call it breakfast!
Cookies

As I was saying about waffles (above), I love healthy versions of calorie-rich foods. What better food to apply that concept to than cookies? Even after becoming thoroughly addicted to the Kashi brand, I had no idea they made cookies; it never even occurred to me! I found them on a shelf at the grocery store while looking for some crackers, and I was pleased. Cookies made with whole grains! Well, they couldn’t be that good, then, right? Wrong. No, they don’t taste quite as good as the usual sugary, fat and calorie-rich cookies you’d make at home or buy made fresh in the store, but they are mighty tasty all the same. The size of the cookie is somewhat small, so that the serving size is more reasonable; the whole grain aspect actually gives these cookies a full-bodied flavor profile that’s quite pleasant. Also, remaining true to Kashi’s healthy standards, they’re made with good-for-the-body ingredients such as oats, flax seed, dark chocolate, and sweet almonds.
Frozen Entrées

Since deciding to make my eating habits healthier, I’ve made a tremendous effort to find good lunch options that are not only healthy but simple to make. I used to eat fast food much too often, because I’m busy and don’t have a lot of time in the morning to prepare a good lunch for myself. I started buying frozen, microwaveable lunches to combat the urge to hit up the drive-thru; I like other brands too, such as Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine, but they fall somewhat short when compared with Kashi’s frozen entrées. First of all, Kashi’s version is made with whole grain pasta, which is so much healthier than regular, processed pasta it’s really not even comparable. Also, Kashi uses good quality chicken, which is a refreshing quality compared to a lot of other companies that produce frozen meals, and they provide several unique flavor combinations as well, for example, they have a coconut chicken flavor, and a Mayan bake. Another important quality that these frozen goodies possess: the portion sizes are just right, at least for me; I’m not left wanting more, yet my stomach is comfortably satisfied; Kashi definitely got that part right.
Wrap-up

The one Kashi product that I really wanted to include is their pizza. I read about their pizza via their website, but sadly I’ve yet to try it myself, therefore I didn’t include it in this post. I can’t find it anywhere, in any of the grocery stores in my area. If you can find it, try it. They make their frozen pizzas using a flax-seed, whole grain crust; their flavor combinations look absolutely amazing, too! A thought I had while writing this: Kashi should make ice cream! Hey, I’d buy it! Are there any other products that you’d like to see wearing a Kashi label? Anything I’ve forgotten here that deserves an honorable mention? Leave it in the notes!

Hi… I eat their cereal all the time. Now I’ll have to make a point of trying some of these other products they make. Who knew they make a pizza? I guess I’ve seen it but it never registered in my brain. Great share, and blog.
We have those. but not in those numbers. yikes. Your blog is lots of fun and I love the guessing game.
Can’t believe it’s taken me all month to get here. I had a SITS feature on 6/7 and you were kind enough to pop in and comment. The next day we had a lightning hit and my computers were down for almost 12 days. It’s taking me forever to visit everyone who visited me. But I don’t care, because I want to be sure to spend quality time on each. Thank you for coming over. Hope you find your way back once in a while. It’s fun. Keri
12 days without a computer would be awful
I’m glad I came across this. I been wanting to try something from them but wasn’t sure if I would like it. Now I have to try some, thanks!
You’re welcome!
